The guy serving me and my friend on Wednesday night was very polite and nice. I never got a chance to say thank you to him. I had some bad news whilst waiting for my food and I was crying and the boy came over and just put a tissue on the table which I thought was very sweet

A wonderfully located Nando’s in the centre of York - you can’t help but notice the wonderful chapel situated opposite. It’s like a boutique, with a small area downstairs and upstairs. We were made to wait for 5 mins before we were seated but the member of staff made it very enjoyable. When we were seated we headed straight for the till, I had a butterfly with rice and peri chips. The food came out in around 5-10 minutes.

I stood at the till and had to wait for the team member to finish my drink before she acknowledged me. Then was told it would be another 10 minutes despite ordering online at 7pm to collect at 7.45. Very rude, and one of the chefs also was very abrupt and said "it's ok, you can park outside if you need to wait..."

My first ever nandos visit. Asked for a voucher for my birthday. Incredibly disappointed with the appalling customer service. Forgot to use my gift card at time of paying, manager would not refund my cash, told me it was too confusing???? Really? Should this guy be trusted with running a restaurant if he finds refunds confusing. His colleague came across as slightly more honest, explaining that good old head off doesnt allow refunds if its not their mistake. What?

We was greet at the door by a very friendly guy and we was quickly shown to our seats. Elle, served us at the till and was really friendly, polite and even advised us on what spice to get.

Called into this store on the way north, right in the city centre on a pedestrianised street it was difficult to find parking but opted to park in the multi storey above the Copper gate shopping centre.

Decided on Nando's for Sunday lunch, and what a disappointment! A scrawled notice on the door advised some items were missing from the menu, and that there would be an at least 30 minute wait due to 'technical problems'. Oh dear.

I tried the sweet potato wedges for the first time - very nice but wasn't a fan of the seeds that came with it. Very friendly staff and efficient service. A very decent Nandos experience!

This was my first visit to the City Centre branch in York. It was a decision between this one and the Monks Cross branch however we chose this one simply because it was open later (Monks Cross shuts at 8pm on Sunday).

A trip to York and a trip to the Nandos where it all started for me!
Entered the outlet, and was greeted by a Nandoca, who swiftly showed us to a table right by the window. After sitting down, it became quite hot, so we moved to the next table, which is much cooler. The resturaunt is on two levels, the ground which extends towards the rear of the outlet, and an upper level which also contains the toilets.

A lovely day of sightseeing came to a close with another Nando's visit in the fine company of Marco. This was an important visit as it was my 136th different Nando's visit bringing me level with James and this sure was a memorable visit.

Great venue (the first floor has a beautiful sight on the cathedral!) and very good chicken!! the mixed leaf salad was really good.
The restaurant was almost full but we had our food quite quickly and the staff was very nice and talkative.

i like this nando's, although be aware it can get VERY busy during the tourist season as it is the only branch!!
another tip would be to be aware that the spice levels of the peri peri sauce always seem to be hotter here, so if you usually go for extra hot, i would bump down to hot (trust me, i learnt the hard way and burnt my innards for a whole 24hrs! ouchy!)
make sure you pick up a wristband for free entry into the local nightclub! ;-)

This was my third visit to Nando’s this week, and by far the best. After a disappointing trip to Durham Nando’s, (Which was supposedly the second best in the country) I hoped that another magnificent city in the north would have an awesome Nando’s and be able to represent the Nando’s of the North!

Just down the road from the Jorvik Viking Centre is this pretty modern Nando's (inside). With it being in York City Centre, parking can be at premium depending on where you park. I paid £5.40 for 3 hours at Union Terrace car park - and other car parks, such as the one at the foot of Clifford's Tower, will be more. Great parking locations though, just a few minutes to wherever you need to be in York.

I have been to this Nandos many times and felt that a re-rate was in order. I find it to be the worst Nandos I have been to. I am never recognised despite going numerous times a week. The chip portions are pretty shoddy compared to all other Nandos. On the last occasion, they had 50 children upstairs who came in it once. Now I expect this to slow things down, but they then made us stand up instead of sitting at one of the 4 free tables downstairs.

On a visit to my friend at York University, I couldn't not visit this town's local Nando's. It is found in the city centre, and is quite a big branch, with tables spread across two floors, and ordering tills on both. We were sat upstairs and ordered reasonably quickly with no trouble.
Table for 4. 3 meals came out, 4th arrived once other meals finished. Food was cold and dry. Very disappointed.
