Parking: 
There are thousands and thousands of free spaces (max stay four hours) dotted across all of the retail parks within Monks Cross. Be aware that following the brown Monks Cross road signs will take you to Sainsbury's/Asda - so use post code YO32 9AE or YO32 9JS (not YO32 9GX) and know that the Vangarde Centre is "behind" Waterworld.

Had to return to my food as asked for a burger with no red chutney due to not being able to eat this because of allergies. It came with it on the waitress then checked with her hands under my partners burger incase that one didn’t have it on. The ice cream machine was broken but still taking orders for it. They said wait 15 minutes so we did on return it was still broken.

Went to celebrate our daughter’s 3rd birthday. Waitress noticed her birthday badge and made sure she felt very special and brought over ice cream. Unfortunately our girl wasn’t feeling well so we left quite quickly but wanted to thank the waitress for making her feel so special - birthdays close to Christmas aren’t easy!

Went for evening meal. The restaurant was freezing and uncomfortable to sit in. We asked if the aircon could be turned down and were told nothing could be done. The table was dirty when we sat down. Eventually we asked to be moved to a different table because of the cold but the new table was equally cold! Food was ok.

AMAZING service. We came for a quick lunch after a work meeting at around half 1 the lady who greeted us was super friendly and upbeat. I haven't been to a Nandos in around 10years she was supper excited to explain the menu as she said most people say they know what they are doing. Food was supper quick and very tasty. The gentleman who took our order at the bar was lovely too and both said bye to us when we left. Will definitely be back again.

Great service I have been to the other one in York a few times and the service in there is poor. The monks cross branch is 100 times better. Leanne was fantastic she couldn't do enough seeing me alone with a pushchair she made the while experience so relaxing. Sam was also a great member of staff. Both very helpful and very friendly. The food was great aswell!

I certainly enjoyed my visit to York Monks Cross Nando's with SVC, particularly after the long drive up from London. Parking was surprisingly difficult in the large outdoor car park right outside, but we did eventually find a spot and trotted inside to find a very colourful Nando's completely packed out at 6:30 on a Wednesday.

This was my first visit to Nandos. My wife and I came to celebrate my grandaughters 14th Birthday. Very good staff who made us welcome. We told them that there were 12 of us but no problem. I have visited this Nando's before so I won't go in to too much detail. Arrived on the number 9 bus from the city centre, and made the short hop across from the bus bay to Nando's in the Vanguard shopping park.

Entered and were seated immediately in the middle of the outlet. Ordered, and returned to the table. The first part of the order arrived almost immediately which was Gelado. The second arrived after 12 minutes (wings) so averages out at a 4.

With a third Nando's planned later on, a small meal was had at this branch 15 minutes away from the city centre. Accessible by the number 9 bus to monks cross and next to a giraffe, wok to go and an ed's diner.

This Nandos, which is officially known as York - Vangarde, was at the time of the visit, a brand new Nandos, and as such this was my first visit. A Sunday afternoon would be incomplete without chicken, so the new Nandos in York was chosen as the location.

This is a new store in a new shopping centre, so new in fact that it doesn’t exist on google maps yet or on Nokia’s satnav. The post code takes you to the pre existing Monks cross shopping centre. I can’t really explain how to get to the new Vangarde centre as it just involved me driving around for a long long time till I stumbled on it.

Had a very sunny weekend on the Yorkshire Coast so managed to swing by the new York Monks Cross Nando's on my way back! It's located in the Monks Cross area which is home to a very large set of retail parks. Keep an eye out for the big John Lewis or M&S stores or the Stoneacre Ford garage though and head towards those, as that is where Nando's is located (you should also see a big V sign for Vangarde).

I was really excited to visit this branch as it had just opened and I wanted to be the first person to review it! I almost went the day after it had opened (but because this branch shuts so early! 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8pm on Sundays!) I had to wait a few weeks to go there. The shopping park it is in is well signposted as you enter York, just follow the signs to Monks Cross. It also has a park-and-ride right next to it along with every type of shop you could think of.
