Having visited the 3 most accessible Nando's in Edinburgh during my visit for the Fringe in summer 2014, the chance to frequent some new Nando's was slightly tougher when in the same beautiful city in summer 2015! The number 30 bus took my girlfriend and me from the heart of the festival to a lovely new retail park with a plethora of shops, restaurants and entertainment in eastern Edinburgh in just under half an hour.

Parking is aplenty and free if you're happy to miss out on the bus, which has free WiFi might I add.

We were welcomed in and given a round table in the middle of restaurant which was fine, but slightly annoying when the queue at the tills became so long that people were standing practically on top of this while we waited for our food. And wait, we did.

It was over 40 minutes from the time on my receipt to when the food finally arrived, probably my longest ever Nando's wait! The staff were apologetic and although there was no inkling that it would so long when I ordered, after 25 minutes or so, a manager came over to offer us a complimentary starter to make up for the inconvenience.

When the food came, it was wonderful! My half chicken was absolutely smothered in sauce, wholesome and delicious. I was also given a very generous single portion of peri chips with plenty of peri salt and perfectly cooked halloumi to go on my garlic bread with the help of my own perinaise which I was able to mix in one of those nice big ceramic pots rather than a silly little plastic container that is so common.

This Nando's was opened in January this year and you can tell. The lighting is funky, the artwork is eye-catching and it just feels new. Definitely recommended although it's the least central of the 5 Edinburgh Nando's. How will Fountain Park Nando's compare tomorrow?

I really enjoyed my date night with my family, in Nando's Fort kinnaird park. I was very well served by PAula, who seemed to be very attentive with me and my family, so were the rest of the staff. The Nando's staff were very well groomed and nice.
I expect to be coming back more times, as my family and I had a very good impression of this restaurant.
