So having visited my share of Nando's I tend to simply go for the food as it’s something I enjoy and know. Can’t say I’ve ever been wowed by exceptional service where it is expected for cashiers and servers to be friendly to a degree of what they have been employed to do. However I went into Wolverhampton Nando’s in Queen Street last night after a difficult time with my wife who had just been through a series of issues with her pregnancy so we weren't really in the best of places. On placing our orders I got talking to the cashier who forgive me i forgot to catch her name but was very friendly along with Zayne the manager.

Now like I said before I have been to my share of Nando’s and never have I seen a manager show so much consideration and take the time to ensure our experience wasn’t simply about the food. As my wife cannot eat certain things due to the pregnancy and on occasion recently when visiting other restaurants we have asked does the food contain mayonnaise etc staff shrug shoulders or make up answers. When the same question was posed to Zayne he came over to the table and using a book which outlined each recipe ingredients went through the menu to ensure we were happy.

The way in which he spoke to us and made us feel really changed the mood of the evening and both me and my wife were left surprised at how tentative he was to our needs. He really took the Nando’s experience to another level and left me feeling grateful that we went to Nando’s instead of anywhere else as it took the edge off a difficult day. To say you leave a restaurant feeling better than what you entered it means the service you received was somewhat exceptional and for that I would like to thank Zayne. It is obvious that the other staff enjoy working with his as they had a very similar outlook to attending to customers. I never got the chance to thank Zayne before I left and therefore I wanted to review my experience here in the hope my gratitude gets back to him. If there was a level of what a restaurant manager should look to achieve in their role Zayne would be my standard of a bench mark. Without a doubt I would go back to this Nando’s on the basis of the staff and their approach to dealing with customers.

Thank you Zayne for taking the edge off a bad day and making us feel the way you did.
