The girlfriend and I went out to lunch at the Sutton branch of Nando's on a cold Thursday lunchtime in need of a spicy kick to proceedings. The restaurant itself is situated just five minutes' walk from the borough's high street and within close walks from car parks nearby so it's easily accessible. Not only that, but there are plenty of things to see and do with cinemas and bars adding to the potential for a good night out followed by or starting with a trip to our favourite restaurant.

Upon our arrival, what seemed like a lead staff member showed us to our table. Good service, I'd say! The Sutton branch's decor is very simple from what I've seen from other branches, but it does have some nice features and a varied space. The front part consists of normal tables and the dark wood we come to expect from the Nando's mood. The middle section has tiled flooring and green walls that give a fresher feel with a closer range to the counter. The back section looks like a deck with places for two or three tables, so in terms of interior design you're not lacking diversity.

The staff were friendly in taking our orders and the food arrived in good time. I had my usual whole chicken with an extra hot twist and my girlfriend had a half chicken with sweet potato mash. The chicken was quite moist and the spice level was decent but still not to my liking or expectation (given that it's extra hot!). What excited us was our first sighting of the new flavour of frozen yogurt - Very Berry. What we could guess is that this flavour is a lot like fruits of the forest (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries etc.) and from the flavour, we could guess that was the case. However, the flavour seemed a little loss in the creaminess of the froyo; it was somewhat faint. An interesting addition to the flavour lineup though. Shame to see caramel disappear, it must be said.

All in all, the Sutton Nando's is a good place for a bite to eat with plenty of amenities nearby and a mixed interior to keep the boredom away should you become a regular customer.
