We arrived in Norwich by train on a Sunday morning for Nando's #62. The Riverside restaurant was about a 5 minute walk from the station, and nearby a bowling alley, Wetherspoons, and the array of other chain restaurants that tend to populate these areas. Despite arriving just after opening , the place was almost entirely full. This was due to a local home football match about to take place. A group of footie fans that entered just before us were told that the wait will be 45 minutes. Gladly, they were able to instantly accommodate our group of five on a circular table near the window of the fairly small and crammed, though functional and welcoming restaurant.

The service was very friendly. All the staff I spoke to were chirpy and the food arrived swiftly. Worlds away from Stratford, they didn't mess up a single order and the food was as good as you could expect from Nando’s (though my leg piece suffered from the fairly regular curse of being pretty scrawny).

Towards the end of our meal, one of the members of staff came over to ask what we’d rated them, and we told her. She told us a little about her job and thanked us for the feedback and then came back with free frozen yogurt pots for each of us. The yogurt machine actually worked as well! After the immensely horrible experience that was Stratford, Norwich Riverside reminded us why we were doing this whole thing.
