As an avid member of the ‘I love Nando’s’ club I thought I was my duty to bring my last experience to the attention of fans.

DO NOT VISIT THE NANDO"S EXSCAPE BRANCH

Last night a friend, who is new to the Nando’s concept and I had an evening out. I suggested we went to Nando’s as we were going to the Cinema and needed a quick but substantial meal before our film started. We went to the Nando’s in the Excape for convenience, one that I have never eaten in before (I usually go to the one at the hub- which is brilliant!), and we were sat down quickly and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down– so far so good. When ordering I had to repeat our choices a couple of times but I had no reason to doubt the delivery.

About 35 minutes later we hadn’t received our order. I thought this was strange as there was no indication of a wait for food when ordering which id usually expect from previous visits to Nando’s. After the mix up at the start I checked the receipt which had the correct order but labelled table 28 not 29 as requested. As table 28 was next to us we didn’t see it as a problem but I thought I would bring it to someone’s attention. I approached a trainee (name on his badge) to let him know who then confirmed that it wouldn’t be an issue but took my receipt off me and walked towards the kitchen. About 15 mins later we still hadn’t received our order and I noticed the guy I approached was still at the cutlery station. I went back to ask again and retrieve my receipt as he had not returned it. He again told me it would be 5 minutes, no apology and when I asked for my receipt back he gave me a sarcastic smile and slammed the receipt down in front of me. 5 mins later I approached another member of staff, his name began with an “M” and he was the one seeing people to their tables with a clipboard. I asked whether they were experiencing a wait on food, simultaneously the table next to us received their main course, similar order to us and they had arrived a good half an hour after us. The employee explained that there had been a mix up with the table numbers and our food had been brought out and when there was no one at table 28 it was returned to the kitchen. Considering we were sat directly opposite 28 and seen no such thing we I knew that was not the case. It had been over an hour since we ordered and we had no indication what was going on with our order. I approached the same employee asking for some kind of compensation for our wait due to their mix up to which he laughed in my face. Needless to say I was not impressed and explained it was not a laughing matter and if our food did not arrive it the next 5 minutes we would be needing a refund. Luckily the food did arrive and we woofed it down in time for out film. I regret when I say this but the food wasn’t great, the quality of the chicken was not up to the standard I have come to expect and no one came round to ask how we were.

Overall a very bad experience and i recommend you travel 3 mins up the road and visit the Hub branch instead! I have been there many times and always had fantastic food and service, quick and delicious in true Nando's style!
