Lewisham - Ryan Review
In Kent for a couple days, so took the chance to have a little drive up to South London for a couple of Nando's - and first stop was Lewisham!
I was driving and so parked at Clarendon Rise / Albion Way car park, which was was just a couple of minutes walk from the front door of Nando's! This was priced at £1.40/hr up to a maximum stay of 6 hours Mon-Sat 8:00-18:30 - and seeing as though I was arriving at 8pm it was free! Nando's is also just a five minute walk from the Lewisham DLR / train station.
At about 8pm it was only a third full, so I was seated straight away and the food came in five minutes! Fillet burger and rice and it was pretty standard - maybe a little saucier than normal... but the fillet certainly didn't fill the ciabatta and wasn't thick, but it was nice and moist. The rice was an average sized portion as well and was hot.
The food was a good representation of the restaurant interior too. On the ground floor there are about 12 tables and a further 8 or so on the slightly raised section towards the back. There's a further little mezzanine section upstairs with 6 or 7 tables, but it is pretty tight up there.
There's little to no artwork downstairs, with all the walls being a standard magnolia - but upstairs on the mezzanine seating, there are at least a few large canvas paintings. On the stairwell down to the toilets there are also some wooden sculptures and masks! The lighting is all spot lighting except for two chandeliers up at the mezzanine level.
The toilets were generally clean, except the handdryer wasn't working so paper towels were provided, but the flip bin was broken and jammed under the sink, so everyone had seemed to just pile the used towels around the sink. There were easily over 30 here, so it hadn't been checked for a while... Overall this is probably just about a 3, but some colour on the walls downstairs wouldn't go amiss!
Staff were polite but doing as expected.
