Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:
It was as good and friendly as it normally is, my partner and I have special dietary requirements and as usual the staff made us great meals to suit us.
I did want to say thank you to the staff, they put a candle on our table and gave us both roses. We're both transgender, and often find it difficult to feel accepted on public spaces both individually and as a couple. It made us feel very welcome and as special as every other couple there tonight.
We've also never had trouble using the bathrooms there. Often transgender people are harrased in bathrooms or told to use different ones from where we feel comfortable, but we've never had that trouble whether we use the gendered ones or the disabled (we often have to use the disabled bathrooms for our own safety).
I know these issues don't mean a lot to most people, but they govern my life and haunt me every day. Thank you so much to the whole team for making us feel equal and safe. I had a wonderful evening with my partner with no fear of the people around me.
