Birmingham - Mailbox - Ryan Review
This Nando's is located in the Mailbox complex - which is probably the more "exclusive" of shopping centres within Birmingham (Ab Fab and Harvey Nics and all that) - and so the parking prices are also slightly more expensive than say the Bull Ring or Edgbaston Street (New Street Station is only a few minutes walk away too), but if you are going to one of the bars at the back of the Mailbox anyway (such as Bar Room Bar) then be sure to stop off for a Nando's!
There's a nice little seating area outside the shop front to allow for people watching - and sometimes it's the only place to sit as it can get pretty busy inside. The shop front itself is a little small and the top floor of the Mailbox towards the back (where this Nando's is) isn't lit up very well, so it does seem a little dark inside, which is a shame, as it does seem like there are some nice darker wood carvings dotted about the place, but just too dark to notice!
As it gets busy too, there can sometime be a wait at the till and there's not much room at the tills either, so you can sometimes get a mass of people just gathered around not really in a queue and then even in people's faces while they're trying to eat. It's also a bit similar to the Broad Street branch where some of the tables are very tight together. Still - it just adds to the atmos I suppose!
This was actually the first branch I tried the Wing Roulette a while ago - and they, along with the chicken each time I have been here are always up to a good standard - and there's generally never a long wait. Another good example of a branch that can cope with a high footfall!
