Got to the branch by DLR from Canning Town to Gallions Reach, then a bus to the retail park. Very impressed with the size of the branch, full of lights and full of people as I waited over ten minutes for a table to become available. The host wanted me to order so that the table could be cleaned for me though I got my table before a family of six who had been in there longer than me.
I ordered a half chicken mango and lime with garlic bread, peri chips and a portion of halloumi. I was warned there was a 20/25 minute wait for the food but it actually arrived in about 12 minutes so I was very happy, and really hungry so short wait time was good. Everything was hot, and all brought out together. Large half chicken smothered in loads of sauce, plenty of peri chips with a generous sprinkling of peri spice, the halloumi was nicely grilled and the garlic bread was great as well. It was beyond my expectations considering how busy the restaurant was, didn't seem rushed and nothing was burnt which is always great.
They would have got a 5 for friendliness of staff if it was easier to catch someone's eye when I needed a takeaway bag. The host was organised controlling the front and sorting tables for everyone, staff were efficient with taking food to tables and clearing tables but if it was anything else they seemed absent minded. There were also no forks for about ten minutes but luckily I managed to grab one before my food arrived.
The lights in this branch were everywhere so it's a bright restaurant, loads of colour, enticing and alluring, plenty to keep you distracted. For decoration they would have got a 5 but this score was brought down by cleanliness. They only got a 4 because a lot of food was being brushed to the floor when clearing the tables before someone cleaned it and the toilets were incredibly messy. Highly recommended otherwise.
