I awoke after a successful RYN reviewer dinner and didn't know what to do with myself so concluded I should visit a different Nando's which ended up being Uxbridge. It took me a good hour 15 to get there which made sense as it was my 108th Nando's and I wanted to use 1 of my recently acquired electronic Nando's cards packed full of chillis for my meal.

The sun was blazing so I went for a table outside then queued up to order. Unsurprisingly I was the first person to try to claim a red chilli reward since the cards were only launched on Tuesday this week. The Nandoca was unsure what to do and summoned the manager over to help. He was unable to use the new system either and told me I'd be unable to claim my rewards today. Needless to say I was not happy‎. No one likes being told they have something only for it to be snatched out of their grasp. I needed some time to think as I really hadn't budgeted for a paying visit. I then approached the manager again and explained further. This time he made a bigger effort to resolve the problem, went into the office and returned around 10 minutes later with the Nando's Electronic Card handbook and repeated he couldn't do anything and that I should get in touch with head office. I couldn't believe my ears and asked if we could try again on 1 of the other cards and so he did. Miraculously the card worked this time which leads me to think it's a lack of training/familiarity with the new system which caused this mishap.

Not all was resolved however; I believed I could order half a chicken with double peri chips as my red chilli meal but was told I couldn't. This is disappointing as I saw that as the potential big improvement of the card since the other alternatives don't interest me. I ended up paying for my sides and took a seat. Since this whole muddle had taken so long, the cock had been removed from my table which meant no Nandocas came to check on me which made me feel slightly unloved. To top that the large chips were sprinkled‎ with the smallest dose of peri salt I think I've ever seen and there was lots of rubbish on the ground around me (napkins, electronic card info). The chicken was decent but overall this was far from a pleasant Nando's experience. The décor did nothing to inspire me and the toilets were dirty too with tissues by the sink. The final straw was no goodbye as I left. Where's the Nando's love?!
