After sampling three Nando's in Canada, we landed in DC excited to compare American Nando's and headed straight to the very first US Nando's on 7th Street.

Given that we landed at 21:00, we chose the only central Nando's that was open until 23:00 which was a great decision because we were in there until it closed!

The staff were lovely and all the Nandocas wished us congratulations on our honeymoon and were happy to have a chat about RYN and Saskia's food faces!

What better way to start our Nandventure in DC than at the first ever Nando's in the US?!

From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty. The servers were friendly and excited about RYN. They particularly loved my good faces. The manager was so thrilled to see us that she brought over all of America's finest specialties for us to sample. The food was fab, the service excellent, what a great start. My favourite dish was the skewers with the cucumber and poppy seed salad!

This was the very first Nando's branch in the US and looks/feels exactly like a UK Nando's. It's just a big open area with some rows of booths and a bunch of round tables. It's one of the most crowded branches in the DC area, and the space is very cramped, and you will be uncomfortable unless you are lucky enough to end up in the very back of the restaurant.

This central Washington store is in the heart of China town and is just round the corner from the China town underground station. As per fitting its location it had Chinese script on it's sign and a slightly oriental feel to the exterior. Internally its all Nandos and I felt like I was back in the UK.
