What a sensational Nando's! Where to start?

In terms of logistics, you have to park about a 10-minute walk away to avoid charges on a weekday lunchtime. I went for one of the side roads off Strawberry Vale to the south of the restaurant.

As I walked up, this unique Nando's Nino restaurant emerged and its dark exterior was quite striking. I already knew there was a reduced menu at this Nando's, but not much else until manager Liam kindly filled me in! There are no platters, fino sides or kids' options on the menu, making for a more streamlined Nando's experience where the aim is to get every meal served within 12 minutes. So far it seems to be working well!

Other differences includes the fact that the peri-salt is actually inserted before the cooking stage to ensure a better distribution across the chips and having sampled them myself, I have to say this seems to be a great idea! At no point did I encounter a chip that was deprived of the peri-peri goodness and would love to see it rolled out at all UK Nando's.

CHURRASCO BURGER FANS READ ON: Another huge difference is the fact that while other Nando's brought the Churrasco Burger back in September for a limited period only, it's here to stay at Twickenham Nando's! It's a very popular dish, but I don't think many people know this just yet.

When I sat down after ordering, I noticed that cutlery and napkins were sitting in a container on the table with my table number on it! You still need to retrieve your sauce, but that's a lovely touch!

As for the food itself when it arrived, it was one of the best Nando's meals that I can remember. My half chicken was huge, covered in sauce and spicy. The garlic bread was cooked perfectly and made for two great open chicken and halloumi burgers with my vusa and mayo sauce combo. I was fully satisfied afterwards and was very pleased to have a good walk to the car before the drive home.

The only thing that may be annoying at busier times is there is only one unisex toilet, but that certainly didn't affect my visit.

All in all, this was a fantastic Nando's and I'm a big fan of the new Nino style. A big thank you to all the staff!
