Stroud green Nandos is only a five minute walk from Finsbury Park station, which was ideal for me as I had some time to kill before my train journey home to Sandy so an impromptu Nandos visit was on the cards!

This would be my first visit to Stroud green Nandos and I was hungry after a long day in London so as I walked the short distance from the station to the restaurant my anticipation of some lovely peri-peri goodness was heightened as well as my anticipation as I was very much looking forward to trying a different Nandos location for the first time.

This location appears very popular as the was a 15 minute wait to be seated as every table, both inside and outside, was already occupied when I arrived. The host who greeted me was very welcoming and explained the situation to me so top marks for him doing a good job in challenging circumstance.

I was eventually taken to table 23 which is at the rear of the restaurant and next to the entrance to the toilets. After a quick look at the menu I knew exactly what I wanted. I joined the queue to order which took about 10 munities as the restaurant was packed and the was only one till open to take orders. The restaurant was not short staffed and I didn't understand why at such a bust time they only had one till open, they could defiantly do better here.

Anyway I placed my order of:
A soft drink.
A single chicken wrap (medium) with cheese, pineapple, avocado and halloumi.
Garlic beard.
Peri-peri chips.
2 side orders of halloumi.

The meal was server to me after a 17 minutes but unfortunately the food was far from the best I have previously enjoyed at other Nandos locations. My wrap was very dry as if it had been left out for a period of time, the two side orders of halloumi were both overcooked (burnt in some places) and shrivelled while the peri-peri chips were soft (I prefer them nice and crispy) and frankly just not very nice. In fact I left most of the chips uneaten as I was pretty disappointed with what was offered here, I know Nandos can (and often does) do better.

Would I come back to Stroud green Nandos? No. Even though this Nandos has a great, friendly and welcoming staff who looked to be very hardworking and doing there absolute best even in difficult circumstances with a packed restaurant and even despite the great location this Nandos has (only 5 minutes walk from Finsbury park station and also very near to the Emirates Stadium) the great staff and convenient location are both let down by the most important part of any Nandos visit - the food. I'm sorry to say that the food here is simple just not up to Nandos normal standard and that just isn't forgivable.
