South Aylesford - Ryan Review
Opening day! Visited this Nando's around 1pm on its official opening day and it was very busy - with lots of staff everywhere, including face painting, balloons and Barci strutting his stuff. There are around 500 free parking spaces across South Aylesford Retail Park, which is also home to large retail shops such as Homebase, Harveys etc. Aylesford train station is 1 mile walk away.
It was a bit cramped as soon as you enter as it's where the waiting area and the queues to the tills are, but the rest of the restaurant was fine. It's very colourful, with many bright red booths by the entrance, all with large beige domes over each one for lighting. Towards the back there are large stencils of tress on the wall with several large colourful canvas paintings. There are some bright circular booths here too and plenty of individual bulbs hanging down for lighting. Toilets are by the drink station and were clean.
Was lucky to get a table straight away but quickly after there was a longer wait. No queue to order and the food came in under 10 minutes. Knowing I was having another Nando's later on... I went or the chicken fillet burger and chips. Very disappointed with the burger... the piece of chicken was less than half the size of the ciabatta bun, which meant most of my bites were bread and lettuce... the portion of chips was an average size and were hot and crispy. I did ask the server who brought the food if that was an average size and she said yes... The chicken was cooked well enough but could have done with more sauce...
Staff were fine and doing as expected especially on this busy opening day!
