Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

I was in Epsom for the evening and my nearest non-visited Nando's from here was now a 40-minute drive or so away... so I did what any sensible person would do and caught the train with the vision to getting some use out my travelcard... and going to three Nando's... yes, sounds very sensible indeed.

First on my list was Northcote Road which was just a half mile walk from Clapham Junction train station/Overground stop and then a further half a mile from the edge of Clapham Common (if you wanted to go that far).

This Nando's is over two floors, with downstairs not having much decor as it is mainly windows... but there was one large canvas by the till of a chap in a sombrero crying a big pool of water... I think... he may have been throwing-up. The decor otherwise has wire baskets for lampshades and other white metal orb shades. The walls are painted the same colour as the leather booths which is the sort of green/grey seen wherever someone is going for shabby sheek/vintage-retro - I.e. looks a bit tatty... There are also many big two-seater booths running all-along the windows peering out onto the High Street.

Upstairs it is all-boothed seating including two large square ones at the back. At the top of the stairs are some lighting rods and some canvas paintings. The toilets are also upstairs and have a nicely brightly painted door... I forget which colour I went into...

The food came in 14 minutes and was superb. I had a massive half a chicken which was hot, juicy and smothered in sauce. Not burnt at all. The chips were also very hot and crispy (infact they were too hot to eat) and the rice was spot on as well.

It was very busy, so staff were just doing as expected. I was seated at the two-seater booth right by the door/tills so it became very crowded with people waiting, so best to wait for a table elsewhere.
