Another day, another Nando's & todays lucky branch is in Northampton. This is my third visit to the current only nando's in this town but it won't be the last.
This branch is in the centre of town where parking is a bit of an issue. My sister parked in the ten storey car park, about five mins walk to the branch, which is offering the first two hours free during the week. Depending on how you get into town, it is either at the top of the high street, after a fifteen minute walk from the train station. If coming from the bus station, it is at the end of the high street after the shopping malls and pubs and bars.
We were greeted straight away by Christy and shown over to a nice and quiet seating area. This is a one floor, open plan restaurant where you can see everything as soon as you walk in. The counter and kitchen are in the far right corner, opposite the toilets, which are situated behind the drinks and cutlery area, which leaves the rest of the site as seating areas.
Again there was confusion with my bill where I only wanted to use the orange reward, but the card had a mind of it's own and a red one was used as well so they overcharged me. The manager was there to sort it out but I've lost a chilli and a reward I didn't want to use. My sister doesn't normally like Nando's but it seems she's been going despite moaning about it in the past.
The food came within 15 minutes and there was nothing to complain about for my sister with her medium chicken burger, rice and mash. I also ordered mash but mine had a lot of chunks in it and there wasn't a lot (would not have minded trading my sister's whose was better). The chicken was slightly burnt on the breast and on the wing, was a bit dry too and wasn't very saucy. It was okay all round but I've had better.
