Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

Free parking right outside is always a good start and that was the case here after a 3-hour drive up from London ahead of Arsenal's visit to Old Trafford. This was, of course, my first visit to Parrs Wood Nando's and it was fairly busy on a Sunday afternoon as you might expect.

It's a long, narrow Nando's with very high ceilings and some nice touches, but I wasn't hugely surprised to hear the restaurant is due a complete makeover in the autumn and will be closed for several weeks as the job is done. The manager pointed out that the allocation of space isn't the best here and it will be improved considerably with the refurb.

There was a queue to order which went down quickly and everything went through as planned. Food arrived within ten minutes and was fairly average overall. My chips were covered in peri salt so a tick there. My chicken, however, was missing the end of the wing that I enjoy so much and that means no more than a 3/5 on this front.

Old Trafford is about a 20-minute drive away on matchday and we left Manchester happy with a 1-1 draw and my 177th different Nando's ticked off. All in all, a very nice Sunday!
