Kings Cross - Ryan Review
This was the day of the first time I have been able to make a Reviewer Dinner, so thought I would celebrate with a few Nando's as a warm-up! This took me to Kings Cross for my first of four Nando's during the day - a short walk from Euston and the Nando's is easily found in the shadow of Kings Cross Station.
I arrived here at about 2pm and the branch was very empty with just a few tables in use across the whole of it. I was seated at a table in the window, so until I went and had a little walk, I never realised just how big it was. Bare brick walls are a common theme throughout and the front section (in the windows) in averagely decorated - just some big straw-like shades for the lighting. Once you walk through the smallish opening past the tills - the whole restaurant opens up with plenty more seating and some brightly painted/graffitied walls. There's also a decent sized downstairs (where the toilets are) which has plenty more leather booths.
Knowing I had three lunches to follow... I just kept it light and had the chicken fillet burger and chips! :-) The food came in under 10 minutes and sadly it was a bad start to the afternoon. The chips were so soggy they couldn't even be forked and just broke up into a mush - I don't know how that happened... The chicken fillet burger was better (which wasn't difficult) but sadly lacked in any peri sauce at all. Plenty of mayonnaise on the burger - but that's not what people are after!
Staff were pleasant enough and doing as expected. Overall, a nicely decorated Nando's, but very sub-standard food on this occasion.
