Enticed to Nandos, Kensal Rise by kids wanting burgers and friends word of mouth recommendation.
As a minimum, we were expecting a decent, moderately priced dinner.
How wrong we were.
Arriving at Nandos we were met by an attentive waiter who escorted us to a table, gave us menus and then left us alone to decide.
15 minutes later (as the kids were hungry) my daughter waved over a different waitress to give her our order only to be told that we had to go to the till, order and pay for the meal up front.
I explained to her that we had been sitting waiting for service and asked why no one bothered to explain to us the Nandos serve yourself routine.
We got our own cutlery, plates and napkins and took them to the table.
We ordered 3 burgers and chips, 2 apple juice and 1 small beer for a total of £33.90.
One small Super Bock beer £3.60. (Lisbon about 1 euro)
After about 5 minutes the burgers and chips arrived.
The chicken was filleted quite thickly, undercooked and not very hot.
The dry bun was unbuttered (un anything) and the chips a little tired and soggy and also not very hot.
I found the whole Nandos experience quite poor (apart from the attentive waiter).
Overpriced to the extreme, poorly prepared and undercooked.
I found nothing about Nandos to recommend in the slightest.
An exceedingly poor choice and an even poorer eating experience.
I rate one star for the staff, that is all.
A complete waste of money...
