Got here about ten pm via Northcote Road and Clapham High Street as I wasn't sure if I had been to the former before and I had an altercation with someone in the latter. I have been wanting to come here for a while so jumped on an 88 from Clapham high street and waited the forty mins to get here. the branch is easy enough to find if coming out of the tube station or by buses which go past. It's right next to a well lit sainsburys as well as the outside itself is not well lit. The interior is a completely different story...
Very open expanse and very large, this is probably one of the biggest 'one floor' Nando's I've been to. A huge section in front with the grill, counter and cutlery bar stuff and a section section in the back with a further one at the died of that with a second drinks section and utilities bar. I saw one floor as the toilets are downstairs and it doesn't count...
No one to greet me and a few others when we arrived despite the place bring empty, but when the meek guy came out he gave me table two which I asked for. Ordered my food, went to the loo and came back to find someone on my table. Turns out he gave the wrong table number but gently moved away to another. The good arrived within ten minutes and then this guy said it was his! I asked if he had ordered the same thing as me, to which he said no, so I told him to get back to his own business. I've realised I'm not very nice when I'm hungry, as two people learnt today.
Free half chicken mango and lime with garlic bread and chips, but the sauce was definitely not mango and lime. Part of the chicken also tried to leave the table as it was still red inside. The mash and chips were nice though I wish they were peri peri. I also ordered sweet mash which although it was plentiful was very chunky and there was a dark bit I didn't like the look of. The young girl roc hello who took my order also had to offer a second glass as she was not happy with the look of the first one, very nice of her.
The gooey cheesecake was nice with loads of cream.. Would I come here again? I think I would have to be forced as the staff were not anywhere to be seen at most points and the food was disappointing and that's why I go to Nando's.
