Coventry - Showcase - Anonymous Review

First-time Nando's customer. We went to enjoy a film and then have lunch. We were greeted by Meesha (apologies if I spelled her name incorrectedly) who explained how everything works, how to order, pointed out our table number, and walked us to our table. We had a LifeStyle gift voucher so I went to the bar to order our meals. Not sure if the man serving was Chris or George (based on different names on the receipt and order slip) but he was easy-going, friendly, and did not make me feel awkward at all for not knowing how to redeem the gift voucher. He asked if I had a Nando's card and I said I had never been to Nando's before. He asked if I wanted to get a card and I cheekily said 'let's see how this visit goes first'. Once our meals were paid for, he brought our glasses to me and explained the self-serve counter. Our food arrived in a short time and was absolutely delicious! I had the lemon-herb wings with coleslaw and broccoli and my husband had the medium peri peri boneless chicken thighs with garlic bread and chips. I also tried the peri peri garlic sauce which reminded me of another peri peri sauce I used to buy in Canada which is gorgeous! I wish I could order that on ALL my future peri peri chicken dishes but I was informed that is not possible to have it except for raw sauce on the side. Staff checked on us, after a bit, to ensure everything was satisfactory but otherwise left us to enjoy our experience. The feel of the restaurant is relaxed and bright and cheerful; although it was our first visit, we already know we will be back next week after another movie date :) I even signed up for the Nando's loyalty card already!
