Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

Didn't win anything in the raffle but that's okay when you win the quiz with nineteen and a half points out of (20).

Got there about seven pm with Jackie, we were one of the first to arrive, bearing in mind we milled about for half an hour to not be too early then decided we couldn't wait outside anymore. James and Marc were already there so picked two seats on the end of the table close to drinks, the till and easy access to loos. Advised Jacqs we needed end seats because as soon as the raffle ended we'd need to go order before everyone. No luck in the raffle but that's where the beginning of the epic began.

Soooo, given my 3 Nando's gift cards for my hat trick weekly competition reviews, I ran off to the counter to beat everyone else to order. Only two tills open, so my lovely pal Jeremy came to open an extra till. Somehow in his head he thought I was Nando's staff so he gave me a 40% discount on the food. Half chicken mango and lime, garlic bread, halloumi and sweet potato wedges came up to seven pound something so I added a gooey caramel cheesecake. That came to 10.41 so swiped my gift card and gave the 41p. I was told Jackie ordered the last sweet mash which was incredibly upsetting (to put it mildly) and had to order the wedges instead. It turned out they had no mash at all so when Jackie was gonna swap with me, the wedges were forced on her also. They didn't give her her discount and didn't advise of the no mash situation so minus ten points there. Thank you Jeremy you made my night.

I think my food only arrived in about ten minutes, the chicken looked small, not enough sauce, the halloumi was nice and the garlic bread but the wedges looked poo. They were a bit burned around the edges, the sauce and ting was in a little plastic cup and they were warm. I like to lemon and herb my mash then spread it on top of the garlic bread and eat it like that, but you can't do that with the wedges. I did stare at my food for a long time before getting around to eating it... Elliott enjoyed his as that's what he wanted but if Pompey had demonstrated his version of mash sweet wedges before I had finished mine then a problem would have been solved earlier. It looks as if they tried to substitute the mash with wedges here but that doesn't fly for me, they should have had them both... Not as if sweet potatoes will die out tomorrow is it?

Sanjeeb knows how to talk the talk, and whilst he seemed to help some people with their meals or issues, he didn't help others. He brought mine and Elliott's caramel cheesecakes out together but he gave me the one that was tired as half of it was hanging over the side... You know why? Too thin a slice, was he rationing the cake? Should have rationed the wedges instead mate. My pal Jeremy came to chat to me later on, it was funny because after he charged me is when Sanjeeb came over to 'help' him, but too late, no take backies!

It was really good to meet up with Pompey again! We had a killer team for the quiz which we smashed and some cool newbies to add to the RYN team, and Andrew fascinated by some people's obsession with Nando's. Fantastic time and looking forward to the next Reviewer Dinner. We had a mini party to celebrate my 100th also...
