After a disappointing first Qatari Nando's experience yesterday, I have to admit I wasn't particularly looking forward to this visit today. I knew I definitely didn't want to have another below-average pitta or wrap, and had noticed almost every table had at least one person eating an espetada (chicken on a metal stick). I therefore decided to go for one, and luckily was pleasantly surprised!

There were two espetadas to choose from: a regular one (chicken thighs with red pepper), and a 'carnival' one, which was the same except with the thighs stuffed with feta cheese, garlic and parsley. You pay quite a lot for the privilege, with the whole thing converting at about £17 with two sides; far more expensive than even the most expensive item on the menu at home. It does however come presented on a rather intriguing metal kebab stick and plate, and luckily it was absolutely delicious! The chicken thighs had the skin removed and lots of flavour, and the feta and garlic added a nice extra kick on top of the obligatory Extra-Hot sauce.

For sides, I went for peri-chips and garlic bread. The peri-chips came with almost no peri-spice like yesterday, but luckily the waitress brought over the shaker today, and it was quickly rectified. The peri-spice is redder and tastier like in South Africa - still something I wish they would import to the UK! As for the garlic bread, it was delicious, and we both agreed much nicer than the rather basic version in the UK.

Overall, a far superior experience to the Nando's yesterday, and it has made me want to try more! Maybe next time I am back in Qatar - 2022 World Cup anyone?!
