The Brunswick - Ryan Review
So, after the disappointing grub at King Cross, I had a short walk to The Brunswick for my second chicken fillet burger and chips!
This one is located in The Brunswick centre, which is home to plenty of other restaurants and shops. It's just round the corner from Russell Square tube station and about a 10 minute walk from both Kings Cross and Euston train station.
The restaurant is quite narrow, but does go back a little way and then opens up a bit more right at the back which is also where the stairs downstairs to the toilets are. There are a couple bits of nice decor - like the flying hearts on the wall just to the left of the entrance, but otherwise it's quite standard with lots of brown fixtures and fittings. There is a good mixture of seating including multiple brown leather booths and benches.
I got here at about 3pm and only a few tables were in use, so no wait at all and the food came in only three minutes... but blimey - it was even worse than the burger and chips at Kings Cross. The only crunchy thing about this meal was the tomato, which isn't how I normally have my tomatoes. The ciabatta was very doughy and floury and the chips were as soggy as Kings Cross and mushing up when being forked... and again, the chicken fillet burger didn't have any peri sauce on it and only mayonnaise... so much for Extra Hot... D'oh!
Staff were pleasant and did everything as expected.
