I had been in America for a few days and was keen to show my American friends what Nando's was all about. When I found about out this Nando's and that it was nearby where we were all staying, we jumped on the chance to see it.

This restaurant is located about 3 blocks north of the Baltimore Convention Center, in the Downtown area of Baltimore. The branding and decor is almost exactly the same as the British eateries, even the menus are the same! So continuity is present and that's good! Service was rather good and when we had paid, they gave us a rough estimate about how long the food would take to arrive and were true to their word. Portion sizes were generous and the flavours were not much different from the original stock except that the Extra Hot chicken had a little more of a chilli hit upon first tasting.

The sauces, cutlery and napkins were identical as well. However some of the sides were different and were a welcome change to proceedings. I had a butternut squash and sweetcorn medley with cranberries which was rather nice and full of flavour which worked as a mellow partner to the fiery fowl. The unlimited refills on drinks were present but the choice of drinks available was INCREDIBLE. 8-10 drink brands, each with 2-4 variants. Incredible. Also, frozen yogurt was there too - only with different flavours. Today was Cookies and Cream. It was delicious!

All in all, Nando's US takes a leaf out of the UK outlets and the familiarity is great for enlightening people about the Nandisator philosophy. It is almost in fact, a slight improvement?
