A visit to Shirley Nando's with our local veggie expert was a fitting way to round off a day in Birmingham speaking at a local school about life as a football translator and interpreter.

This is a busy part of the city, particularly with plenty of schools in the area and parking isn't that straightforward. I ended up driving past the Nando's (with it on my right) and parking down a side road a few hundred metres down.

Nando's is definitely my favourite and I regularly order takeout from the Shurley branch, I am never disappointed the food never disappoints, I would have nando's every night if i could!

As a vegetarian, I am limited as to the menu choice, but I know this before I go in and the couple of things I can eat (veggie pitta and fries) are tasty enough, and I really like the fries with the chilli salt on.

I remember the table being sticky which was unpleasant, and I think we asked a staff member to clean it which they did.

This is quite a small branch and they have packed the tables. The service was good and the staff were friendly and chatty.

There is good on street parking, though we had to drive around twice to find a space, I also noticed a car park nearby.

The food was spot on just as we expect from Nandos.

Nicely furnished but that was the only thing that was above average at this Nando's. Staff did just about enough to get by. There were 4 of us and we were made to wait for 20 minutes despite there being space in the restaurant. Ordered an extra hot chicken breast and it came with NO SAUCE on it! I was absolutely shocked so sent it back and it then did come doused in sauce but too little too late if you ask me. Unimpressed. Also no perinaise in stock - very disappointing.

This Nando's is on the busy Stratford Road, so although there are free parking spaces all along the numerous shop frontages, it's quite often you won't get a space in one of these. There are more car parks behind a number of these shops too and are all generally free as well.
