Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

This Nando's is found on the newly opened Whiteley Shopping Centre next to the Cineworld cinema and offers free parking for up to four hours between 7am and 6pm - and there are then no restrictions up until midnight when the car parks close. It's easily found of J9 of the M27... but be prepared for a big traffic queue coming off the motorway! It's also about 1.5 mile walk away from Swanick train station.

Arrived here at about 7:30pm and was seated straight away, with the restaurant being two-thirds full. Despite this... the food took 32 minutes to come. I did have two apologies for the wait and the staff were generally pleasant and doing as expected.

It's such a fresh Nando's and the decor inside and out shows this. There are six or so tables outside, a couple are bright red plastic. Inside there is lots of colour too. As soon as you enter you see the till area which is clad in reclaimed wood set in a triangular pattern - most pieces have been painted a bright colour. To the right/front are some colourful large circular booths with a few more square booths against the wall. Towards the back right wall are further smaller square booths and right at the very back (where the toilets also are) is a little semi-circular section, walls clad with wood in a wicker style and enough tables for a large party to go in here. Each booth has a wicker lampshade above it too. The rest of the seating is table and chairs and with a couple of supporting pillars in the way, it is a little cramped towards the back on this seating. There's plenty of yellow too - yellow metal separators in a web effect, which matches the yellow patterned table tops and the yellow/brown walls in the toilets. Overall, very nice.

With the food coming in 30+ minutes... I was hopeful it would be worth the wait - and it certainly was! A very large portion of hot and crispy chips came, accompanied by a chicken fillet burger. The chicken breast fillet was much larger than the cibatta bun - very thick and juicy and oozing in sauce and mayo. A very tasty meal indeed.
