My last day in a Nando's speaking country for a few months was marked by a visit to a new branch for me and overall I was rather impressed.
The exterior of the building where Stamford Street Nando's is found is quite unique with colourful panes all the way across and up the building.
On entry, the tills are directly infront of you and then seating to either side. The only issue is that the branch is quite narrow and it was deemed necessary to have only 1 drinks station which is to the left as you walk in. It would have been convenient to have another one on the right of the restaurant but I'm sure it was considered.
This branch is a good bet for a weekday lunchtime when other central London branches (One New Change, Holborn, Euston for example) tend to be full. There was no queue to place our order and the food arrived relatively quickly. I had a free quarter chicken and of course ordered another quarter. Quick reminder to specify whether you want breast or leg if you get just a quarter and if you get 2 quarters, say '1 leg, 1 breast' to avoid the potentially irritating situation of being served 2 legs. Portion sizes were impressive; the chicken was covered in sauce and the 2 portions of peri chips were plentiful in peri spice and I knew I wouldn't finish them and still be hungry!
As for the area, Waterloo Station is a short walk away. The I-max cinema is very nearby so the famous Nando's + (3D) cinema combination is possible here. All in all, a very enjoyable first visit and I'll definitely be returning!
