Second Nando's of the day on this sunny Bank Holiday Monday :-) Dinner time now though, so get that half chicken on order.

This Nando's is located on the large Deepdale Retail Park (about half a mile from the football stadium) which is home to lots of large outlets, such as Toys Am We, Argos, M&S etc and other eateries like KFC. Hundreds (maybe a thousand) free spaces right outside, so all good there.

The branch is one level and is three or four shop fronts long (it is pretty long) - and all panelled with full length glass right the way along. You can only look out onto the car park, but it at least lets a lot of light in. Inside there are maybe 40 tables. Booths generally along the back wall, with the tables/chairs in the multiple windows. Very funky lighting - lots of single spot lights with different colour shades suspended from the ceiling. The back wall has 20 or so canvas paintings (all average size) but they are bright and clean. The far right wall is a sort of stone clad too - with a few carvings etched into it - and generally a very lively atmosphere. Toilets are up some stairs (behind the scenes) and were very clean - fully tiled and again with some nice Dyson hand-dryers.

Three of us arrived at around 7:30pm and every tables was taken so only a few minutes wait - and good we did, as just when we got a table, the queue went out the door - maybe five more parties joined the queue right after us. About 5 minutes to queue and order too - so that was fine (nice new tills showing you your order too).

One good thing was that before we even got a table and then again when ordering, we were advised the wait would be 20-25 minutes as it was just so busy for them (all said very professionally too and politely), which was fine as we then made the choice to wait (of course we were going to wait :)) - and the food came in bang on 20 minutes. The only criticism was the red pepper dip starter came a couple minutes before the mains, so there wasn't really enough time to savour it... and instead it just got woofed down...

The half chicken was gorgeous too. Well worth the wait. Piping hot, drenched in sauce - two very meaty pieces - and an enormous portion of hot chips and rice. I was suitably stuffed after this!

Friendly chat throughout the meal from the staff and a friendly goodbye when leaving too. Good job Preston! :-)
