So after finishing the marathon, a post-run Nando's was in order! Being in Halifax it was just a short drive to Huddersfield to visit the only other Northern Nando's I hadn't been to!

As with Halifax, there are plenty of reasonably priced car parks (with varying opening times) including many street parking bays. If you're happy to have a short five minute walk, go for the 24 hour Wilkinsons car park on Alfred Street (opposite the Market Hall multi-storey), priced at £0.70/1hr, £1.20/2hrs, £3/3hrs, £6/6hrs - or have a longer walk (15-20 mins) to get one of the free street parking bays outside of the A62 ring road. The wonderful Grade I listed Huddersfield train station is also just a couple minutes walk away.

The outside of this Nando's is very grand, as is most of Huddersfield, with big blocks of Yorkshire sandstone in use. Inside, it is separated into two sections, where the back section is slightly raised over to the back-left from the entrance. There is bench seating running along the length of the front windows, but otherwise it is all table/chair seating, with about 30 on the level section and a further 6 tables or so in the raised section. It's pretty dull inside... there are some colourful blinds on the windows, but apart from that this is very standard. A couple of unique wooden carvings at the bottom of the stairs for the toilets, but overall it's very standard.

Arrived here at about 4pm and it was full with only one table left free, but by the time the food was gone, almost everybody else had and the restaurant was nearly empty! Everybody must have already been scoffing they're food as mine came in under five minutes and it was a good meal. Half a chicken with chips and rice - and the chicken was cooked nicely, and caked in sauce and probably just slightly above average size, with an above average size portion of chips and rice and both were piping hot.

Staff were fine and doing as expected... including Hannah who as I approached the till had a head in her hands resting on the counter. I asked if she was alright or maybe just hungover... but like the professional she was she didn't reply and just took my order...
